Backstory:

Sheik was born in a small village just south of Ordon where the desert and mountain meet. Its defensive position was key when selecting its location and from the outside it looks more like a camp than it does a permeate village. There was a single path up the mountains that they could use to flee should the Geurdo from the desert choose to attack their settlement. There were six families with them, Sheik’s mother being a young girl when they first settled. Before that their tribe traveled. Sheik had the privilege of learning the long history of his family.

The world was hard and rough from the tribe’s point of view and Sheik grew up only knowing those rough times. His mother died in childbirth and it was originally predicted that he would be female. His father brimmed with pride after learning that he had a son and so Sheik grew up without the gentle hand of a mothers care. Everyone would chip in together and share work but Sheik was always quickly pulled away from activities by his father who sought to train the young boy. Sheik was being trained as a fighter, protector and next leader of the tribe. He didn’t hate his father but his methods were harsh.

The methods of training varied as he aged. At first it was simple things like leading Sheik into the desert with a single day’s worth of water and then leaving him there to find his way back home or to tracking and hunting the animals and beasts that made the pointed peeks of the mountains their home. Every lesson to be learned was learned in the extreme and by the time Sheik was ten he had thick deep scars covering his body.

Shortly after his 10th Birthday, his father took him out for another lesson. There was only the obedient boy left of Sheik though he felt a deep foreboding darkness as they traveled. This was the first time that Sheik would see the ocean. There was an off handed comment about the weakness of Sheik’s mother spoken with such hate that the boy snapped out of his own trace. Years of abuse came flooding back to him and he realized that there wasn’t anything good about his father. Using a blade gifted to him that day Sheik fought the shadow that stood over his life. He didn’t kill his father, only managing to escape and run.

His lineage was obvious to anyone who saw him and while Sheilk was trained he was still young and missing experience. He ran into trouble in a few places such as the Deku Forest and along the east coast of the continent. He never got on a boat as if something tied him to the ground. This was when his search began looking for a piece of himself that was missing.

One year later he ran into a hard older woman who was Sheikah as well. She found the boy’s name to be prideful which was perfectly explained by the nature of the man who gave him such a name. For the next four years he trained under the older woman, it was hard but nothing like what his father had put him through. She had performed his coming of age ceremony, however, shortly after she vanished without reason. Sheik thought to look for her but instead began his travels again. She taught him humility, the state of the world… all the other personality traits his other past can’t explain.

This was when Sheik found himself in Kakorikie Village. He met Dave who he recognized immediately as a part of his clan. Dave, however, didn’t know and Sheik didn’t tell him. He traveled with Dave to Raurun for the adventure and to learn more about the family member who had the fortune of living away from his tribe. Sheik tried to be something like support but he was only able to provide what he knew.

Shadow Magic (Default for Sheikah)
- “A branch of magic discovered by the Sheikah. Typically the shadow arts are of a mysterious nature. Although easily corrupted for evil, shadow magic is not always used for ill. Casters can move through the shadows and displace themselves similar to teleportation or invisibility. Shadow magic likewise can be used to generate a form of dark lightning.”
“Apprentice Level: The ability to create a shadowy shroud that can conceal the user in darkness or blind a single opponent.”
“Amateur Level: The ability to receive prophetic dreams OR telekinetically lift objects equal to the user’s own natural strength.”

“Gripshot - A spring-loaded contraption that can latch onto distant objects and instantly propel the holder in that direction.”

Forest Magic (Taught on his Journey)
- “A branch of magic discovered by the Kokiri. Typically their spells are those entwined with nature and involve the manipulation of plant life, though it often involves communication with passive animals as well. It is most often used to for healing, though the rapid growth of plantlife has offensive uses as well. “
“Apprentice Level: The ability to draw the excess life from plantlife to provide a soothing cure to mend small cuts and abrasions OR the ability to make suggestions to animal life beneficial to the caster.”
“Amateur Level: The ability to accelerate plant growth such that its excess life can be used to mend deep cuts and minor illnesses OR the ability to take control of a beast, so long as it's willing.”

Ambitions Sheik is searching for something thinking that a part of him is missing. He looks for this under the employ of others and by traveling around. He gathers information and at times takes the roll of a bard with his harp, as if what he's looking for is in history or the stories of others. His deepest wish should he get the triforce wouldn't be for himself though, he'd seek to complete the world in a sense hoping to stop the conflict and need for harsh environments.

SAMPLES

His steps were silent, a whisper against the grass as his long strides took him across the city. The dark night covered the town suggesting that the world might have found some small measure of peace within the vail of night. A few lanterns were lit outside of the local milk bar and then along the streets to guide the drunk home. The soft flames flicker as a soft wind brushed past the village making dark shadows dance along the ground.

He was early.

It was around here and around this time that they were to meet. For now Sheik kept to the shadows wanting to see what the other might do after their arrival. Would he arrive early? Perhaps Sheik was being watched as well. He tried to steady the questions in his mind by scanning the empty streets.

There was nothing.

Sheik glanced up at the moon taking note of its position in the sky. He was late which grinded on the boys nervous. His arms cross in front of his chest while a slight pout graced his lips. He could be silent and still for hours but he still had other things to do tonight.

Finally a familiar shadow stepped through the city and Sheik felt a quark to his lips. He kept the small smile hidden beneath his mask stepping forward to greet the other.

"You're late." There was no humor in his voice, only the tone of someone who was meeting with the intent to discuss business. He was annoyed but he kept his tone neutral. “The attacks are only getting worse.” His red eyes narrowed slightly as he waited for whatever excuse might come from the man.
